Persona..

The manifestation of human potential and ego.

"I am thou... Thou art I..."

What is a Persona?

In sheer blunt description, it is a summon than is linked to the summoner. Contained inside the user and unlocked whenever needed for battle. Typically this can be done in various ways, but usually the Persona provides passive superhuman physical abilities even when not summoned. Persona and user are highly connected, so when one takes damage so does the other. Of course, as discovered soon enough, Persona are not widespread and the human world would laugh at the sheer thought of such things. To them the very notion of 'magic' is absurd. Also a Persona may only be summoned during special circumstances or in a particular location, though that piece of information will be received the old fashion way.

Persona can grant you super strength, speed, elemental powers and more. There is also a limit on how many these said Persona can "have" however. There are pros and cons to each that you will create, develop and find.

This is but one example.

The Arcana

Twenty-Two unique cards. The Arcana make up everything when linked to Persona. Every single Persona is represented by an Arcana.

"The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed..."

Within each of these cards has a measure of meaning and connection to user, and whatever Persona they summon. The card you see above you is "0 - The Fool Arcana" and it represents innocence, freedom, inexperience, creativity, new beginnings, emptiness and even madness. The "Persona" of the Fool Arcana are often heroes, fools in question, or the protagonists of their own mythological stories. Some of the Persona connected to this are Loki, Orpheus, Black Frost and more. Every single character in the "party" will possess one Arcana to begin with and will reveal it upon their very first Persona summoning. Nobody will start with a Persona.

You will discover what each represents through a particular character that will be encountered. Along with how to obtain more.

We will begin....in the small town of Inaba.

You live there. You have moved there. Either option, you have one year.

Keep looking at this post as the story progresses; information will be added as your characters learn more. Contact me if you need a opening to start the story or wait till things progress.

Welcome to Persona 4.

04/11 MON
Afternoon. Inaba, Central shopping district.

"Can you go to the bathroom by yourself?"

That, thankfully, wasn't aimed at him. A hand ran through thick, shaggy blonde hair and his fingers hand darted down to keep a yawn contained as he watched the older man talking to the little girl, the man's daughter. Brandt might have had a bit of a problem when it came to the Japanese dialect, but he could certainly understand well enough. He could also understand that he was stuck in line due to Detective Dojima and his way-too-adorable daughter fussing over one another. At a standard 5'8 and wearing the simple Yasogami High school uniform he was just another face in the crowd, but his striking natural blonde hair and thick foreign accent made him a little more odd to those wandering around. Still, he didn't get so much as a glance.

They were more interested in the strange, peculiar coin that was he was toying with between his fingers.

Damn thing turned up in his mail one day and...he, well, kept it. Lucky charm, hopefully. And yes, you heard that correctly. It turned up in his mail.

Strange really, but he was leaning towards it being a stupid joke from his family.

"Uh-huh," nodded the little girl. Nanako Dojima. Cute kid, but he only knew her through his dealings with the Detective. Maybe she would cheer up once their relative arrived from wherever the hell they came from. Ah well. Brandt kicked back against the wall behind him and looked up at the green delivery truck across him, before reaching out to grab his bottle of water. It took him lifting it to his lips and receiving nothing to realize he was running on empty. Great. On one of the hottest days of the year and stuck in a line with only one single freaking person on till. He drank that way too fast for his liking. Fantastic. Seriously, he wouldn't have cared so much if the other stores were open, but it was some sort of "holiday" that flew straight over his head. Thus, they were not.

Speaking of the attendant.

"It's in the back, to your left. You know which way's left? The side you don't hold your chopsticks in."

Nanako could not of looked more annoyed with the gas-station man as she pouted and looked away; walking along with one last "I know… Geez…" and a stare that could have made anybody think they were a horrible person. Brandt, personally, didn't get the reference. Some social norms just went way, way beyond what he cared to really know. And he would only be here for a year, so, who cares. Either way, it looked like Dojima was ready to get moving and stepped up to the man, seemingly making small talk.

"Are you taking a trip?"

"No, we're just going to pick up my niece. She just moved here."

Brandt stopped listening completely at that and ran his fingers over the empty bottle in his hand before sighing; dropping it in the trash as he waited his turn. Which, thankfully, didn't take much longer. He only had a few moments pass before the red-hat wearing attendant strode up to him and looked at him with a smile. The blonde could practically feel the apologetic tone in the voice of the man, but he really wasn't listening all that much. He just wanted to get what he wanted and go.

"What do you need, sir?"

The blonde held out a note, which the man took.

"Everything on this bloody list. Oh, and a bottle of water. That'd be nice."

His use of the word 'bloody' didn't translate too well, but the man didn't seem to care or mind. He ordered up the items, before handing it to him with an exchange of money. Brandt took the time to reach into his student jacket and pull out his phone, glancing at to briefly check the time as the man went about his work. Unfortunately, the blonde was meeting an attendant that obviously liked to chat while doing so. How fun. The sarcasm was strong with this one. "Does it surprise a city boy to see how little there is out here?" asked the gas-station attendant.

"Mmmhm."

Brandt, of course, was so happy to chat.

"There's so little to do, I'm sure you'll get bored fast. You'll either be hanging out with your friends or doing part-time jobs."

"E'Yup."

"Speaking of which, we're actually looking for part-time help right now."

"Sure."

Bam, done. Thank god it was over. He looked down at the bag handed to him and reached out, taking the water from the hand of the man. Now to head home and get back to school before he was caught. Or before this guy bored him to tears any further. Either one would suck really. A yawn almost broke out across his lips at the very thought of it.

"Give it some thought, why don't you? We don't mind if you're a student."

Brandt resisted the urge to sigh.

Yup. He was going to be sleeping through class today.

"Will do."

And he was out the door.

Wait, where did his bloody coin go? Gah.

"...Hey."

Brandt paused and turned his head at the unfriendly, female voice. A girl stood with her arms crossed, wearing a rather unusual outfit and a short skirt. She was rather pretty, but that wasn't what caught his eye. It was the fact that she was holding out her hand and, in it, was the very thing he was missing. That golden, rusted coin with the card symbols on it.

"You dropped this."

He blinked and took the coin, toying with it before glancing at her with a strange arch of his eyebrow.

"Thanks.."

How they hell did she find that?

"Whatever. All I did was pick it up."

She looked away and shook her head, walking away. She had made no move to give him her name.

"..."

She was....new. Roughly about his age.

Cute too he wondered, watching her leave before shaking his head.

A bus stopped, the door opened. A small boy of 16 years of age stepped down from it. He let out a small sigh before his face smiled. He was happy, eager to see what it was he could do in a place like this. The town of Inaba... from what he heard, it was perfect for what he needed.

His name was Darren, Darren Mujo. He was a young boy, smart for his age at least in terms of intuition. He was one who didn't hide aspects of himself and always looked forward towards new opportunities. However, if one is two honest about themselves, it creates a barrier between him and those who wish to hide behind masks. Because of this, Darren was used to being alone, never interacting with others unless called to. He felt like he couldn't relate to anyone.

Even though this was the case, he still made sure to help those who asked for him. He is one to look closely at a situation before acting. Even with that, he is brave and kindhearted, all those who know him rely on him. This is one of the things that led to this situation.

Darren's parents were concerned for their son. He was a boy who couldn't socialize well, who could not interact with other. In a larger city, it was easy to find distractions and ways to avoid human interaction. To help his situation and keep him out of the habit of being at home all of the time, his parents got the idea to send him to Inaba. In name, he would be living with his Aunt and Uncle. In actuality though, his Aunt and Uncle were away on a year long trip. This meant the house he would be staying in would be his and his alone. With Inaba being such a small town, he wouldn't be able to do much unless he socialized with others. It seemed perfect for him.

Darren looked at this as a new challenge, a chance to better himself. He willingly jumped at it and this is where he was as a result, alone in a city with no idea where to go other than a hand written address in his right hand. "Too bad I don't know the streets around here..." he muttered to himself as he started walking.

It didn't take long at all before he was in front of the gas station. Seeing it as the only place he could go in order to get directions, he walked towards it. "Is anyone around here?!" he said out loud, searching the area with curiosity as well as concern. He tapped his foot lightly as he hoped that this wasn't an abandoned place. That would really suck right now.

At the Central Shopping District a 15 year old girl was looking at the different shops checking out the accessory and outfits. The girl was named Xateramusa and she rescently moved to this town all by herself senise her perents have died, and no family member would take her in. She stops out side of Tatsuhime Shrine and while putting a strand of her hair behind her ears decides to go to the shrine to check it out.

Her skin was a dark brown with blue symbols tattoo's, her hair was long brown with blue tips which on top had a black wolf ear headband, and her eyes were a greenish/blue. Her outfit was a white short dress with a slash going down her side that looked kind of like a tail, she wore white knee high socks with light blue boots, and 2 golden bracelets around her wrist. She was a brave, wise, kind girl. She tends to be shy and not very trusting of others due to her mother and father being killed by there closest friend.

As she was walking up her slash started to sway back and forth with each step. Once she got to the top of stairs she took in the shrine noticing how it looked abandon and let out a soft sigh. "I should of guessed it would be abandoned. I thought I could at least get some help here." She said with a sign and reached up to touched her wolf ear headband. She then turned away and went back down the stairs to the road and contunied to look around.

She stopped at Daidara Metalworks in Southern Central Shopping District and went into the store. Their she bought a katana looking sword for her collection, and with that paid she left the store in order to shop around more. As she walked she looked at the sword and smiled as she remember some of her fathers lessons.

Flashback
Xat was 10 years old and she watched her father work on fixing and creating weapons. "You must rember Xateramusa when choosing a weapon or creating one you should always out your love and heart in it. Also you should remember when choosing a weapon make sure that you pick on that will fit your type of style." Her father said with a soft smile. "I will remember that father and i will do my best to become a great sword welder, as well as a great blacksmith." young Xateramusa said.

End of Flashback

After that memorie replayed she looked up just in time to avoid crashing into someone. "Sorry." She told the person before running off to the bookstore before they closed. Upon reaching the bookstore she stopped running and placed her hands on her knees to catch her breath.

Haruka Narukami sat on the steps outside Inaba Station, wondering where her uncle was.

She'd arrived not long ago, to be fair, but the train had arrived on time and she had expected him to do the same. What was keeping him? Had he lost track of time? Had something happened to delay him? Had he maybe forgotten about picking her up entirely? Haruka wasn't sure which of these were true, if any of them, and it was rather pointless to speculate, but there wasn't much else to do to pass the time.

At least the weather was nice.

She hummed tunelessly as she stared up at the sky, her thoughts helplessly slipping back to Tokyo where her parents were. For now, at least. Tomorrow they would be heading overseas for a year-long business trip, which was the reason she would be in Inaba for the year. It would have been nice to know that more than two weeks in advance, but that was how it always was with her parents. So off to Inaba she'd gone, transferring to the local high school of Yasogami for her second year and most of her stuff already sent over to her uncle's house, with the exception of the stuff in the bag she was leaning on while waiting for him.

Seriously, where was the guy?

Switching from humming random notes to an actual song, Haruka pushed that question away. Instead, she focused on what she'd been told about her uncle by her parents. His name was Ryotaro Dojima, and he was her mother's younger brother. She'd met him when she was very young, too young to remember, and had not seen him since. That was due to her parents' work, what with them traveling constantly, and not any sort of family grudges she was aware of. Her uncle had a young daughter named Nanako, but she hadn't heard any mention of a mother, and she didn't know much of the girl beyond her name. Haruka had been given a picture of the two, taken recently enough to be able to recognize them on sight, which was currently sitting in a pocket of her bag, and the two of them had been sent a picture of her so that they could do the same. That was the end of her knowledge about her relatives.

It was also the end of her ability to distract herself, so she hoped her uncle would show up soon.

Even with classes over, Cole Redmond couldn't help going over his lesson plans. This whole teaching in Japan thing was never his first plan, but he had been here for three long, adventurous years if your idea of "adventure" was sitting in a small apartment and teaching students English as a second language. He lit the end of the cigarette stuck in his lips and ran a hand through his swept-back brown hair. The american had enjoyed success in his time there and even that day, a student had read an entire Emerson poem without stopping. The progress was impressive. There was even talks about a promotion; unthinkable at his stage especially for a foreigner.

Cole let out a breath of smoke as he kicked back against the balcony railing of his apartment, an open book in his other hand. He had worked in enough time to go for a walk later that night, but there was always time for more reading. A good reader was a good writer, after all. Both of those things made a good teacher.

But maybe erotica wasn't the best source for inspiration. It was about the only thing in this country he could read, and honestly...he couldn't look away. It was like a car accident. He didn't want to, but wow, was he trapped.

"This'll kill me, I swear," Cole said to no one in particular, taking another drag from his smoke. He ran his hand across his chin. He was getting scruffy. Maybe he'd shave before he went out?

Inaba Station (Haruka)
04/11 M

"Haruka?"

The male voice no doubt broke her out of her thoughts. A man with short, almost greyish dark hair and a stubble stood across from her in a simple shirt with pulled up sleeves. He glanced down at his silver wristwatch and seemed to wince slightly, bringing up a hand behind his head to rub with hinting shame. He obviously recognized that he was late, laughing softly to himself in attempt to clear his throat before he apologized. "I'm sorry we're so late. We got a little preoccupied getting gas and...." he trailed off, coughing for a moment to wave off the situation. It was easy to see that the older man wasn't quite used to being so late to such things.

"Well, you look a lot more like my sister than in your photo. Welcome to Inaba. I'm Ryotaro Dojima. I'll be looking after you. Let's see; I'm your mother's younger brother… and that about sums it up.." his words stumbled near the end as if the sound of 'uncle' didn't sit right on his lips. Or as if the idea of having outside family was something he wasn't all that used to. Still, she could see that he definitely recognized her looks and stared at her with a strange wonder of nostalgia, as if he really was looking at a copy of his sister. For the man it certainly brought back fond memories, well, mostly fond ones at the very least.

"I'll say. You've really grown, I still remember when you were in diapers." A small laugh broke over his lips and he shifted slightly, moving so she could see the bright eyes peeking at her from behind his legs. A small, rather adorable looking girl in pink stared up at the cousin with a mixture of confusion, hope and nervous energy. "This here's my daughter. Come on, Nanako, introduce yourself to your cousin."

Her blush could be seen for miles as she stepped forward and look away, her pigtails bouncing slightly with her nerves.

"....'lo."

Nanako barely managed that.

"Ha. What're you so shy for?"

His daughter pouted and smacked her father on the back of his legs, dashing behind them with a blush.

Dojima didn't seem to mind too much.

"Ow, haha."

Central Shopping District, Gas-Station (Darren)
04/11 M

Darren wouldn't really find anyone. The last of the customers were leaving and the place was closing up, if only for the day. Hints of rain could be felt as the sky started to fog a little, almost letting him know that staying out for too long wouldn't be all the ideal really. Still, he could see someone heading towards him carrying a bag; though the guy didn't seem to be paying all that much attention because that "someone" stumbled right into him. A flicker of blonde hair flashed in his view and Brandt shook his head as he tried to not drop the items he had a hold of. The taller boy looked down at him and rubbed his shoulder, where he had run right into him. He didn't look too pleased, but his anger didn't seem directed at him in the slightest. If anything the blonde looked embarrassed that he was stupid enough to walk right into someone.

"'Sorry. Tis' the second person I've bumped into in the last hour..."

He shook his head and gestured to the station, noting that he couldn't see the workers anywhere.

"That bastard gave me the wrong change. Better yet, he didn't give me any at all."

The hint of red across his pale cheeks pretty much let the entire world know that he was ashamed that he hadn't realized it sooner. Yet, the blonde knew he was rambling, making excuses really for the fact that he had walked into a complete stranger like an idiot. The Yasogami High student waved him off and practically walked past him before the boy could even get a word in, as if he was in a hurry. He wasn't heading back to the gas-station either, no doubt due to the fact that it was pretty hard to 'complain' to a empty building. He was heading down the road, to where the other district was located near the shrine.

Still, Darren could see that he was rubbing his shoulder as he walked away, batting a blue butterfly that pestered him. Maybe that hurt him more than he let on?

"You should head home before the sky opens up. Looks like it's gonna be a big'un tonight."

A flash boomed above; and more rain followed. Greeeeaat...

Residential Area, Inaba (Cole)
04/11 M

A knock echoed on his apartment door. Then another. Then another. The knocking was pretty persistent and outside stood a young adult with unkempt black hair and gray eyes. He was clad in a black suit, having an air of nervous energy about him and general stupid cheer. If a little lazy. Still, he had a warm smile and his voice seemed pretty welcoming as he spoke through the door. "Errr...excuse me? Sorry for interrupting you but we've gotten reports of a disturbance in the area and was wondering if you had heard anything." There was a hint of unsure energy and all around unease cheer, once again hinting at being a rookie. A 27-year old rookie detective; noted by the badge.

"Hello? Dang. Is he not home? Could of sworn I..."

The sound of him gently kicking the ground with a sigh followed and Tohru Adachi let his shoulders drop. At this rate Dojima-san was going to get on his case again for being lazy. Oh well, what was another dent in his paycheck? Sadness nipped at his heels before he gave one more knock. The last one he would give. Besides, it was starting to rain and he had to get back to the Department. Last thing he wanted to do was more paperwork, but, eh, what else could he do? Say no? Yeah, right. Another sigh escaped him.

..Oh. And now it was raining. Great, just great. Why did these things always happen to him? Couldn't he get at least one break? Nope, nada-da, no. Adachi rubbed his chin and stared up at the sky, letting rain gently cast over his face as his eyes gazed. He could practically feel the sky laughing at him. Almost.

"...I should have brought a car."

Stood outside of an apartment door in the rain looking into a case that was probably made by some punk kid. Hooray.

Well! Time to try the next house.

Central Shopping District (Xateramusa)
04/11 M

The bookstore was pretty empty. No doubt closing early due to a holiday event. Yet, a familiar girl in a blue hat stood reading one of the books by the back even though it was pretty obvious that she didn't work there. The book itself, from the title alone, could be noted that it was a tutorial on poetry. She didn't so-much as glance at Xateramusa as she entered and instead focused entirely on the book, humming words to herself in sequence. Slowly she walked past the girl and out of the door, paying very little attention to her while holding the book. Surprisingly, the book hadn't appeared to have been paid for and yet the girl hadn't dashed away like some thief. It was as if she had just absently taken the book and done-so without even paying attention to that, yes, she had to buy the damn thing.

Thankfully, the store owner was nowhere to be seen and the girl in the blue hat was already long gone.

"Something wrong, dearie?"

A elderly female interrupted her from the back of the store; behind the till and table. She was dressed in, oddly enough, all black and appeared to have recently returned from a funeral. She walked up to Xateramusa and attempted to smile at her; her voice low. "My apologies. I was just taking out a few things out back. Was there something you needed?" asked the much, much older woman. Her eyes were a little unnerving to stare into and yet her tone was still rather soft to listen to. This elderly woman appeared to be the owner of the store and was going to be closing for the night soon, but she didn't seem to mind Xatermusa staying for a moment.

Especially considering the heavy rain that was now picking up outside.

Darren was almost knocked over as he bumped into the mysterious blond male. He looked at the boy with a blink, seeing he was about the same age as Darren himself. He didn't know what to say to him, especially since he was so quick to apologize. He looked down slightly, a lose for word. He really was bad at talking to others.

That was when the rain started to come down. He let out a sigh of dread as he still didn't know which way to go to reach his home. He looked around, seeing a bus stop as he crossed his arms. "I guess if that's the only way..." he muttered to himself. Luckily he did have pocket money for the bus even though it was all he had at the moment. That would likely be a problem later. "I need to do something about money if I'm gonna be here alone."

He walked to the bus stop nearest the gas station, looking back as he decided to call out to the male. He didn't look like he was from around the area, at least by physical appearance. He didn't really appear to be Japanese. He was able to speak a language he understood at least. "Hey, good luck getting home, strange foreigner guy!" he called out as he was trying to stay out of the rain as best as he could.

Xateramusa saw the girl walk out with the book and was about to go after her when she heard the voice of the store keeper. She turned around and looked at her. "Sorry for coming in so late. As i walked in there was this girl in a blue hat that walked out of here with a book that looked like it was payed for." she told the lady hoping that the girl would do the right thing and return the book. "Also i was wondering if you had a few books on weapon crafting, as well as a histroy book of this town?" She asked the lady with a little smile before looking towards the window at the rain.

She wanted to know more about this town and what better way then a history book of the town, before school started.

"Hello to you too." Haruka returned Nanako's greeting with a grin, just barely managing to restrain a laugh at her cousin's reaction to being teased. She'd rather not make a bad first impression, and laughing was unlikely to endear herself to the girl. Even if it was just because she thought the girl was cute. Instead Haruka went the route of generic and sincere with her introduction. "It's really nice to meet you. I look forward to getting to know you."

She stood up, adjusting the strap of her bag over her shoulder, then turned her attention to her uncle. "You don't have to worry about being late. Gave me some time to think, and you're here now. That's the important thing." Haruka looked up at the clouds she'd been observing before her extended family arrived, and then looked back. "Speaking of now, that may be when we want to leave. Looks like some rain's headed our way."

She had things she was curious about and wanted to ask, but they could wait for a later time.

The door to the apartment crept open, a confused and half-out of his head teacher revealed on the other side. Cole put out his cigarette in the ashtray near the door, digging through his head for the Japanese he needed. In his american accent, he responded with a cough. "Hi, hi, sorry about that. I was on the balcony. Come on in, it looks like rain."

Heading back into his apartment, Cole went to his refrigerator, grabbing a bottle of juice he had been saving. Boredom was a hell of an occasion, wasn't it? "Please, have a seat. So there's a disturbance? Like noise or something?"

It then hit him that there was something more he needed to ask, "Oh right, I haven't caught your name."

Central Shopping District, Home (Brandt)
04/11 M

"Where have you been, Broski?"

That was the response Brandt got as he stepped through the door of his current home. A young, rather short girl with dark hair and bright blue eyes stared at him beneath her baggy, oversized hood. She was obliviously related to him in terms of physical features but lacked the bright blonde hair. She appeared to be around fifteen to sixteen years of age, if a little short and petite. Their home was nothing fancy, just quaint and homely to look upon and sat right in the middle of the shopping district. One of the old leftover houses before the shopping district became, well, the shopping district. It was all around still in pretty good shape and well taken care of. Cozy too.

"Nana-chan? Shouldn't you be at school?"

The only person in the world who ever hears a honorific pass his lips. And for the wrong, annoying reasons. The girl stared at him with a dry look that positively lied about her bored tone of voice. She would look almost intimidating if not for the fact that she was extraordinarily cute. Even the jacket she was wearing completely covered her arms with it's poofy, fluffy white furred sleeves. The slight sniffle she gave did nothing to help her cuteness either; her nose twitching slightly as she continued to stare up at him.

Brandt was having none of it.

"Shouldn't you?"

Nana hit him with a deadpanned gaze.

Critical hit.

"I'm sick. You're not."

It was true. A little late now considering the time, but it was true. He wasn't going to give up that easily though. Brandt shrugged off his school uniform jacket and slung it over his shoulder, kicking off his shoes in the process as he stifled a yawn. The journey back and forth must have took a lot out of him. More than he expected at least. "Mother asked me to pick up a few things from the shops.." he asked, turning backwards the smaller girl with a sigh. She didn't even budge in the reaction.

"....and Okaasan told you to pick them up during school hours?"

Hnnnnng-

Brandt gave up.

"....Where is this going, Nana-chan?"

Nana continued her long, disapproving staaaaare. She held up her arm and pointed directly at him with that same dry tone. It was only until a few seconds after that he realized she was pointing to the window he was stood right next to. Particularly outside at the object across the street. Well, this was going to hurt his wallet, wasn't it? "The present situation is thus. There is approximately one little sister standing before you, desiring of a character tee which that shop over there just got in."

Her blue eyes were seriously serious. Serious.

"Your mission: Purchase shirt for adorable sister."

Did he seriously just get blackmailed by his little sister? Her big blue so-not innocent eyes told him everything he needed to know. Fork it up or get emotionally guilt tripped then punished by their mother. He felt the urge to facepalm creep up on him. Slowly his shoulders fell and he nodded, stifling his yawn as he agreed.

"....Fine."

Her victorious smile was clear as day.

"...Hm. I'm happy now. Thanks, Brotagonist."

Today was not looking up.

"...ou ar......A...I a..th....."

Brandt paused.

"...Did you just break my bottle..?"

Day End.

Shopping District, Bus (Darren)
04/11 M

The bus didn't take that long to arrive thankfully. The rain however was getting worse by the second. Each drop reminding those outside that it wasn't ideal to be loafing around while the weather was so chaotic. Only he appeared to be the only one anxiously waiting for it, with the others seemingly uncaring. Slowly the long, blue bus parked up and opened the door for him, revealing a hinting of velvet coloured steps for him to walk up into. He wasn't the first to step onto the bus; a girl with stunning pale skin and blonde hair headed in without so much as a word. Another, a male blunette strode inside with his hands in his pockets and headphones blocking out all sound. They were followed by a pitching crowd who were happy to get out of the rain and head on home. Mothers, sons, and more.

It was a typical bus.

An annoying one.

"Well, are you coming in?"

A female voice no doubt broke him from his thoughts and a woman with blonde, silvery hair looked at him from the driver seat. She was rather beautiful, but, all around clad in typical driving attire. It was quite odd to see her wearing a pair of sunglasses in this time of day however, but, maybe she had some sort of condition? Her dry voice was patient, but beckoning. As if you could almost imagine her 'tapping her foot' for him to get on.

At least the bus would get him home.

Glass shattered somewhere in the distance. Did someone drop something?

"...ou ar......A...I a..th....."

A sudden airy touching whisper of broken Japanese and twisting words danced through the air. Nobody appeared to pay much attention to it, with bratty children talking to parents, teenagers chatting, and students simply waiting for the bus to move. One kid even turned up his music.

What kind of song was 'burn my bread'?

"Next stop, Inaba Residential."

Well. It was getting kind of foggy. Time to move?

Residential Area, Inaba (Cole)
04/11 M

The Detective nervously laughed and rubbed the back of his head; just happy to actually get a response as he walked inside. He took a quick look around before digging into his pants and pulling out what seemed to be a notepad. He raised it up and flicked it open, scratching his head as he ran his finger down a few words. "Well, we got reports that a biker gang and some kid has been causing a few noise problems nearby recently. Typically it would take awhile to look into something like this, but they sent me because...well..." he trailed off and sighed with a pitiful grimace. He shook his head and glanced at the notes before he continued; this time with a cough. "It's been happening more frequently than we'd like around here. So they sent me door to door in hopes we'd get a name of one or two of them."

In other words he got shafted into "grunt duty"

Oh!

He blinked and held out his hand for a shake, a grin on his lips as he looked at the man. In all honesty; he was just happy to get out the rain for awhile before things got worse. Even if he got nothing from this he could at least tell Dojima-san he was doing some actual work. He would even have proof!

"I'm Tohru Adachi. Nice to meet ya'."

He couldn't stay long, but it was the thought that counted, right?

Glass shattered. Neither of them would hear it.

"...ou ar......A...I a..th....."

Only one of them heard the echoing whisper from beyond the windows however. And it wasn't Adachi.

Central Shopping District (Xateramusa)
04/11 M

Girl? The older woman looked confused. As if the thought that passed her mind made little sense. She stepped over to the door and took her cane; nudging it slightly. The door rang with a bell; one you would typically see on a shop door. The bell was clear and perfect. No errors whatsoever. Yet, it hadn't rung before. Thus, her confusion. Slowly she turned and looked at the much younger female; smiling gently as she shook her head. "Are you sure you're not mistaken, dearie?" she hummed lightly and gave a small, noticeable shrug you wouldn't expect from someone at such an age. "Ah well, I wouldn't worry about it. These things have a way of working out; and I'm sure that lady simply got tired of waiting for me."

She paused and gestured over to a nearby section filled with what appeared to be a lot of dusty, dusty tomes, books and the alike. The question, though a strange and sudden one, surprisingly didn't even make the elderly woman even blink. No doubt she had seen and experienced a lot during her time. "Try looking over there, dear. I'll just be just over there if you need me, okay?" she finished, tapping her cane on the floor before striding back over to behind the counter without so much as another word. She appeared to be a bit sleepy. Not that much of a shock considering it was getting late.

She was pleased to see the younger generation actually interested in reading something though.

Glass shattered. From where nobody would know, but only one of them would hear the chilling call.

"...ou ar......A...I a..th....."

It was another broken, taunting voice that made no sense. Considering you could get called crazy for hearing voices; it might not be the best idea to mention it. Besides, it sounded distant. Perhaps someone was nearby?

%%%%%%%%%%%%

Inaba (Haruka)
04/11 M

For the next year, this place would be her home. This was the thought that no doubt hit Haruka as they arrived, in car, at the Dojima household. It was a typical house; with a little unused garden and shed outback. Nothing fancy, with an upstairs and downstairs all snugly wrapped into one rural household. Ryotaro himself was proud of it even it was nothing special. Slowly he parked the car and got out, lightning up a smoke as he smiled slightly at her from the side. "Well, here we are. It isn't much to look at, but it's home. I hope it won't take you too long to get used to it."

Nanako just looked happy and shyly moved near her, rubbing her foot against the ground with nervous energy. She was happy to have her cousin here, but she wasn't too sure if she would like their home. It was a silly thought that the little girl had, but it was there. She slowly raised her hands and began to tug on the arm of the older girl, 'pulling' her towards the house with a small hint of growing confidence.

"Come on, I'll show you your room!"

One could practically hear the smile in her voice. Just happy to have someone around.

Then, it happened. A shatter of glass that nobody in the area appeared to even acknowledge much. Dismissing it. Only, she heard it clear as day. A shadowy, haunting voice that beckoned from the inner depths of her ears. A headache would be forced upon Haruka; a feeling of fatigue and raw sleepiness that threatened to creep up on her. It was nothing alarming, but it was certainly there.

"Thou art I...And I am thou..."

The words practically burned into her brain before they began to break, crackle and fade into nonsense. Just like all the rest.

"Thou hast established a.....bo....wi..."

It was so sudden, so soft and so fast that you could have blinked and missed them. Nanako broke the silence, looking up at her with worry.

"Did you get carsick? You don't look too good…"

Dojima waved it off as he strode past and beckoned them to follow.

"Don't worry. She's probably a little tired from the trip. Come now, let's getting something to eat and toast her arrival."

&&&&&&&&&&&

OOC: Well, things are back on track. This took longer than I wanted due to my introduction of my second character (who, yes, is a complete rip off of someone). If you see the words 'Day End' on a 'character part' - that means it's the end of the day for -him- and that he is at home. You can only interact with that character if you actively seek him or her out, or phone, etc. I will only end -your- days after your character has shown their desire to end it, or enough time has passed/example: If in your last post your character goes to sleep. Also, yes, unless something important is going on you may 'End Day' whenever you wish.

I will show more and more examples of how certain days will work with Brandt and Nana so that you guys have a good understanding.

EDIT: Probably a few errors here and then in this. I'll correct em' soon.

PS: If you're curious, Brandt sounds like Shulk and Reyn. Mostly the second.

Darren looked around him as he saw no one seemed to notice or care about the rain. Was it normal for it to rain here? Were people just use to being rained on? He wasn't from this area so he couldn't think anything strange about it with just that. His thoughts didn't stop even as the bus was arriving, wondering what kind of town this was and who was in it, as well as generally letting his mind wander.

When he was called to get on, his mind stopped and he looked up, noticing the interior for the first time. It was a lot fancier than any bus he had seen. What kind of area splurges money on a thing like that? He heard the woman ask if he was coming, causing him to nod as he took a step forward.

The shattering glass caused him to turn on instinct, not seeing anything around him. Now he was wondering if maybe he was overly paranoid. It would make sense to be nervous in a new area, though Darren wasn't exactly the timid type. Normally he was brave and willing to jump into a new adventure, but something about all of this was... unsettling. Why were so many things happening at once now, and why was it no one seemed to care? It was like he actually was losing his mind.

Not thinking about it, Darren moved to an empty seat. When he sat down, he heard the voice. His eyes widened as he turned every way possible, seeing no one close enough to him to whisper that to him, at least no one that matched that voice. Something was wrong... He had to be hearing things. With a final look out the window, Darren noticed the fog. A bus driver wearing sunglasses in the rain and driving through fog would send warning lights to just about anyone, but Darren did realize there weren't many other cars on the streets tonight. Maybe this won't kill him.

"Bus or walk, your choice Darren..." he muttered to himself as he continued to look out of the window. "Hopefully things pick up when I can get my things out of my backpack... Then I can explore some things if its not too late."

Xat looked back at the door while the old lady went to it and she saw the bell. 'thats odd why didn't it ring when the girl left.' she thought to herself before the old lady turned back to her. "your probely right. sorry bout that. " She said with a small smile. When the lady pointed out were the books were xat bowed in thanks and went over to them looking for the titles she needed and finding them.

She pick up a few blacksmith's books, and a few books on the history of the town. When a book caught her eye. Xateramusa went over to it and looked at it when she heard the voice, she then looked around to see if anyone else was there, but there wasn't. So she grabbed the book and went to the counter with the books to pay for them. "Thank you for your help and time." she told the old lady.

Haruka observed her new home with an excited grin. While it might not have been anything special by normal standards, the fact that it was a house was intriguing enough for her. Having grown up in Tokyo where there was nothing outside of apartments, a whole building to one family was new to her, if only seeing such a building in person. They even had an area outside, a little untended garden. Haruka wondered if her uncle would mind letting her use it. She'd always wanted to try growing something.

And that was when the weirdness happened.

She braced herself against the car as the wave of discomfort and exhaustion hit, lifting her free hand to press against her temple. What had that been? Not just carsickness, that was for certain. Probably not even carsickness at all, seeing as she'd never been a day in her life before. It couldn't have been tiredness either, she'd slept quite soundly on the train. And certainly neither of those things brought about imagined (but so real) sounds or voices telling her that they were each other and that she had 'established' something.

But what was the alternative?

...Maybe the whole move and transfer had just been more stressful than she'd thought.

With a deep breath in, Haruka pushed herself off the car and smiled at her young cousin. "I'm fine, don't worry. Your dad's probably right is all. C'mon, gimme the grand tour while he gets the food and stuff ready. I've never been in a home so big before, and it looks really cool from out here. I bet it's even cooler inside."

She held out her hand for Nanako to lead her.

"Pleasure," Cole spoke, "Now that you mention it, I think I've heard about those ki-"

He froze in place. The words or rather fragmentation of words hit his ear like any other sound he had heard before, yet for some reason the shiver still traveled down Cole's spine. His ears perked up into the brown mop that was his hair, and he turned back to the sliding glass door to his balcony to see if anyone, or indeed anything had made the noise.

"That....might have been....nevermind," Cole shrugged it off. He lived in a public area. He had heard fragments of conversations all the time, and yet none sounded so....close before.

"I can't necessarily say I've heard them recently," Cole finally turned back to his "guest", "but you have my word I'll be the first one ringing the station if I do Officer....Adachi, was it?"

Inaba, Bus (Darren)
04/11 M

The bus was unsettling in the way it moved. Slow and oddly cautious. The closed door completely blocked the sound from outside but the chatter in the vehicle was surprisingly normal. Various people talked, went about their daily waiting lives and more. Rain hit the windows as the flickering lights from buildings were passed and went unspoken. They left the shopping district within moments and passengers could only await their arrival, watching the outside go by beyond those taunting windows. Vision muddled by the rapidly flowing water that went down them.

Time passed and passengers came an' went. Some got off the bus at early locations and some got off later. However they all saw the same sights. Inaba. Very few of them actually looked though. One could hear two girls chatting a few seats across and the outside picked up until the bus stopped at one of the residential areas.

"Not going home, Saki-sempai?"

"No way. This is my last day of relaxation before I have to...ugh, you know. Typical days."

"Say no more. Good luck and don't be too late!"

"I'll try!"

Many were like that. Speaking to friends, stepping off the bus and then leaving those friends behind. It was only until the bus stopped for the "last" time that Darren had arrived at his location. At the back of the bus sat the boy with his eyes closed and headphones over his ears, blue hair cast down over his features. The blonde girl that was with him was nowhere to be seen. She must have left at an early stop. Yet, he was now the only other person on this bus.

"Last stop?"

The woman driving looked at him from her seat and barely flashed a smile.

A question.

The velvet door opened and only fog beckoned.

"That's right, Tohru Adachi."

His smile spoke wonders more than his words could. Honestly? He was just glad to get something to go on. It had been a stressful day and the officer was happy to get anything that would stop the higher ups from shouting at him. Adachi went to take something out of his jacket when a sudden beeping of a phone went off. The officer grimaced and sighed, preparing to be ordered around again as he dug his fingers into his pocket. It was a simple, rather old flip phone. He opened it and brought it up to his face, confused as he spoke.

"Hello?"

....

Cole couldn't hear what was being said, but he could see the cheeks of the pale man actually turn green at what was being said. A paleness spreading through him.

"W-What? Are you kidding me?"

A voice could be heard shouting on the phone and Adachi looked like he was having a panic attack. As if unable to believe what he was being told.

"R-Right! I'll be right over."

He closed the phone with a slight "beep" and Adachi could only shake his head. Ew, ew, ew! He seriously didn't want to go investigate that, but, all officers on hand had been ordered there. He had little choice. He looked at Cold and then nervously laughed, rubbing the back of his head.

"Well. Looks like I've been called on again. Sorry we couldn't talk more, but just give us a ring if you hear anything else, okay?"

The old lay thought nothing of it and smiled as she registered the books. She handed them over with a small glance towards the window before humming with worry. Her voice was thick with concern; like that of an old grandma. Considering that the weather wasn't the best and that it was growing late; that wasn't exactly surprising.  "It's getting quite foggy, dear. You should head home."

Sirens could suddenly be heard. Loud, obnoxious and by the dozen. Neither woman could see the cars or where they were going, but they could definitely hear it.

"Oh my, I wonder what that was about."

She actually sounded considerably confused. After all, this was Inaba. It was very, very rare that anything major happened around here. Hell, the neighbourhood put up a fuss when that one girl lost her cat.

"Try to stay clear of that, dearie. Take my word that nothing good could come of that. Especially on a night before school!"

That...would have sounded more foreboding if not for the last line. Typical adults, eh?

Inaba, Dojima Residence (Haruka)
04/11 M

For the next year, this place would be her home. The phrase once again repeated in her head as she was pulled inside by little Nanako. It was a distinctively homely, cosy household and the small hall lead immediately into an attached kitchen and main room. The kitchen area itself was surprisingly small but the area near the TV possessed more than a enough room to "seat" a large group of people. The décor was very "Japanese" in nature and warm; obviously taken care of by both the little girl and father.

"It's just me and Nanako here, so it'll be nice having someone like you around. It's not much but make yourself at home. So long as you're here, you're part of the family," said Dojima. He flipped open the fridge and leaned forward with a look of thought. The brisk smell of food hit the three and he scratched his head, looking a little unsure. "Looks like I'll need to go to Junes tommorow; 'running rather low on groceries."

"Oh! Can I come?"

Nanako looked...oddly excited to visit a simple store.

Seriously, she was bouncing on the back of her shoes.

Dojima laughed and shook his head. "Sorry, Nanako. You won't even be home by the time I'm finished. It's a school day after all."

Nanako immediately looked depressed. The "aww" didn't help either.

"Well, I'm sure we can scrounge up something to eat. Let's see..."

Pipipipi.
Pipipipipipip.
Pipipipipipippipi.

That was the ring of a phone.

"Ugh... Who's calling at this hour?"

Dojima closed the fridge and dug into his pocket, bringing out a cellphone.

"...Dojima speaking."

Nanako and Haruka couldn't make out what was being said on the phone, but they could see the slight widening of his eyes at whatever was being told.

"Yeah..? I see... So where is it?"

There was a moment of silence before the man gained a grim look.

"All right, I'm on my way."

He turned off the phone and sighed, looking at the two girls.

"Sorry, but I gotta go take care of some business. Go ahead and eat without me. I don't know how late I'll be. Nanako, you help her out, okay?"

Darren gave a light sigh as he sat in his seat, trying to look outward through the window as best as he could. Unfortunately, the fog blocked his pathway to doing so. Was fog this much of a problem in this area? How could the bus even be driven in something like this? He shook his at the thought, not wanting the paranoia of the bus crashing into something on his mind.

He looked around at the people conversing around him. It seemed normal enough, nothing strange about it. He felt himself getting tired, wherry from the trip up to this point. It made him think about taking a nap when he finally did reach home, but with nothing but an address, that would still be difficult.

At the last stop, he blinked and looked around. He hadn't even noticed everyone else leaving. When things became quiet from the lack of activity, he simply went with the peace. He stood up, looking at the woman driving as he said, "I guess this is mine..." He wasn't even completely sure if this was correct or not, but he would have to venture through the fog to find out. He stepped down, out into the Residential area as he said, "This is where it starts... Well, the address will tell me where it starts but, its around here somewhere."

Xat looked out the window to see the fog getting thick when she heard the sirens and began to wonder what it was about. She shook her head to get the idea of seeing what it was out of her mind.

Xat then took the books with a small smile. "Thank you for all your help, and don't worry i wont go near the sirens. Thank you for the warning though." She said before walking to the door and with a wave she left the shop. She walked down the street, passing the shrine before stopping and looking when she got to the cross street. She took a right and soon arrived at her new home. She then walked into her house, placing her books on the table and her new sword next to a chair before opening the window to get fresh air in. She then went into her bathroom and took a shower. After she was done she put on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shrit before sitting down to read.

"Alright." Haruka told her uncle, nodding. She was honestly a little bummed. Here she'd been looking forward to getting to know him, but instead he was getting called away not two minutes after walking through the front door. Still, she didn't let any of her disappointment show. "Be safe." She added, mindful of the weather. Rain and fog always made travel more dangerous, especially heavy as they were.

She turned her attention to Nanako, expression going from understanding to mock serious. "So that leaves just us, and you with a heavy responsibility, Nanako. The fate of lives rest in your hands, and your actions and choices will determine the future. You need to be brave. You need to be clever. You need to be confident! You need to...give me a tour of your house and tell me what you like to eat that's in the fridge so we can make dinner." Haruka suddenly grinned at her cousin. "Think you're up for it?"

As the officer answered and sub-sequentially screamed into his phone, Cole could only sigh. He wasn't really paying attention enough to hear what was being said over the phone even if he could hear it, but he knew that there wasn't anything being said that was his business.

He held the door open for the officer as he left.

"I'll keep a look out. Have a great one!"

He eyed the sky overhead, the weather not even close to improving. As he closed his apartment door, he let go a yawn.

Perhaps he wasn't going out after all.

"With storm clouds moving in from the west, expect rain throughout the day tomorrow in most areas."

The simple TV was alive with the forecast behind them and nothing seemed all that good about it. Nor was it very interesting. Nanako appeared to not really care all that much about it either and instead seemed far more focused on what the older girl was saying to her. She jumped up rather excitedly and nodded. A perky "mmhm!" noise followed as she practically dragged her relative over to the fridge and then gently knocked her own head to one side in a thinking motion. One could almost hear the 'hmmmm' that wanted to bubble up cheerfully.

"Well, I like Takoyaki..."

Opening the fridge revealed...well, you certainly couldn't make that. There were a few minor options on display, fruit and some really strange looking soda. Outside of that it appeared that Dojima needed to go grocery shopping for [b]actual[b] food sooner or later. Yet, there were a few containers around the kitchen and such that probably contained dry food, such as bread and the alike, but the fridge itself was pretty bare.

News continued to drone on in the background.

"Mysterious reports from Osaka hint that there might be an electrical fault somewhere in the area. JP's assure us that the risk of property damage is minimal and will be handled in the next few hours...."

Nanako suddenly stopped and jumped with an "Oh!" as she dug through the fridge. She would be at that awhile unless stopped or helped.

"And now for the local news... "

/////////////////
////////////////////
/////////////////////

For Darren, it seemed all was pretty peaceful. Very few people were around and the fog itself seemed minor at best really. The lights from the street helped navigate the area simple enough and nothing was going to bother him. A nearby cornerstone had a selection of TV's in the windows and one was alive with the latest live news. Nothing major, but it was there and still ringing in his ears. "City council secretary Taro Namatame is under fire for an alleged relationship with a female reporter."

The screen shown a middled aged man with slicked-back dark hair. He didn't look all that happy.

"His wife, enka ballad sensation Misuzu Hiirage, revealed to this station that she likely pursue damages."

A small blue butterfly landed on the glass of the window and quickly flutered away as the news continued to drone on mindlessly.

"In response, Eye Television has decided to cancel all of announcer Mayumi Yamano's televised appearances.."

They looked to be discussing this awhile.

/////////////////
////////////////////
/////////////////////

The rest of the night was up to her. The weather was distasteful and uneventful, but easy to deal with now she was at home. Silence was her friend this moment and only the sample of rain that ran down her windows was something to go on. The lights from the street flickered on and fixed themselves to blocking out the building night. In the distance she could see one of the blue street-lamps flicker and turn off. Followed by a pitching golden one that seemed the brightest.

She could see a few students running home after a late night out. After all, school was tomorrow. The start of a new beginning for new and old students alike. Staying up too late in Inaba was bound to bring one some trouble in the end.

"Dreamless dorm -
Ticking clock,
I walk away -
from the soundless room
"

Music could be heard from the strange, velvet bus that drove by outside of her home. Vanishing into the bewildering fog like the remaining vehicles.

Day end?

Darren walked from one street light to the other, looking around as he did to try and remember where everything around him was and what it all looked like. The first rule of a new area is to try and remember as much of it as you can. He heard the news in the background. It wasn't something he was interested in at all, even if it was the only thing that broke the silence it just had nothing to do with him.

"I guess not much happens around here if that's the biggest news," he muttered to himself. The news was usually a good sign of the kind of area that surrounded a given place. Bad neighborhoods had a lot of stories about killings, rape, and kidnapping. All the kind of thing that kept Darren from even watching the news. Then you had a place like this, an area where the news is so thin that when one story comes up it gets milked to the ground. Hopefully that means there wouldn't be any problems like muggers.

After an all but unthinkable amount of walking from the bus stop, a whole 3 blocks, Darren finally arrived at his own address. It wasn't the sight of a large home, but it was his... at least for the year. Inaba was already proving to be a pretty average place and the inside of his home was no better. No place to play games or anything, and basically empty. The only way he would be able to entertain himself would be to go out and socialize. That must have been what his family wanted from the start. Well, he already knew it was.

All of that would be for another time, though. For now, the trip had made Darren wiry. He didn't even take the time to get to his bed, laying himself onto the couch as his eyes closed. "It'll all start... after a nap..." he muttered to himself, hoping the fog would let up at least a little after he awoke.

Xat looked at the time whens he heard the bus drive by and looked at the clock. She saw that it was getting late and with that she put her book down, locked her doors, shut and locked her windows before headed to her bedroom. Once there she did her nightly rituals of brushing hair, and teeth. She then changed out of her clothes into a silk nightgown and turning off the lights craweld into bed.  She decided on her next day off she will check the shrine more, and other parts of the town.

Day END!

"Whoa, careful there, Nanako." Haruka cautioned, moving her hands near the items her cousin was taking from the fridge, half as a safety net in case they fell and half as an offer to take them. She paid the television no mind. "Let me help, yeah? Making dinner's bound to be more fun if we're both actually doing something - what are you trying to make, anyway?"

Wondering what the child was up to and filing the mention of takoyaki away for later, a thought occurred to Haruka. "Oh, do you or your dad have any allergies? I don't want you guys getting sick when it's my turn to make dinner." And wow, Haruka thought to herself, wouldn't that be novel, having other people involved in the processes of cooking and eating for the next year.

She had to say she was looking forward to it.

"I hope I'll see Kanji here tomorrow when I pick up the fabric...Bye bye, Obasan!"

It was already much later than she wanted to be as Sayuri exited the small textile shop near her home. She came by to ask the old lady to make her some fabric for her small projects she's working on. Instead, she got caught up talking with the sweet woman about some random things...not like it was a bother to her at all. She enjoys her company whenever she has the chance, but it was a shame she didn't get to see her grandson today as well.

"Maybe I should bring some food over next time..." The purple haired girl mutters to herself as she arrived at her house and starts unlocking her door. "I wonder if either of them likes sweets?" For the past year she's lived at Inaba, it was a rather relaxing year and she's grown accustom to the town's quiet nature. School wasn't so bad once you get used to it, either.

"Oh right...school's tomorrow. I should make sure to get everything ready."

With that said, she opens the door to her house and starts preparing her things for tomorrow like her backpack and her lunch - both of which you wouldn't want to forget on the first day of class.

DAY END
